Darren Lisle has been serving the Santa Barbara community as California State Licensed Acupuncturist and Diplomate of Herbology and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) for a decade. He first applied his talents as Pharmacist and Intern Director for the Santa Barbara Herb Clinic under the direction of Master Herbalist Dr. Henry Han. Soon after, Darren became partner in an integrative medical practice at The Maes Center for Natural Health Care. While at the Maes Center he expanded his service as faculty of the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. At SBCOM he supervised the Compassionate Care for Caregivers program providing care to Hospice patients and their families. This program was funded by non-profit Healing Opportunities where he served as a board member. In addition, Darren treated adolescents at Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Treatment Center. Here he acted as lead-Acupuncturist on staff for Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse. Recently, Darren became co-founder and President of Santa Barbara Acupuncture Associates. SBAA, Inc. maintains a contract with CADA to provide on-going NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) treatment for clients in their drug and alcohol treatment programs. This includes providing treatment to clients at Project Recovery and Detox where Acupuncture has been utilized for over 20 years. In 2008 SBAA, Inc. launched Santa Barbara Community Acupuncture Clinics. These facilities are Medi-cal certified and serve the community at large with an affordable sliding scale. Darren joined the Spine and Orthopedic Center as an acupuncturist in 2011.
Along with his wife Lisa and two children Emma (5) and Justin (2) Darren enjoys nature watching, making music, cooking and telling stories.
